In 64 they constantly rubber band you to the point where they get so far ahead you have to play perfectly or get insanely lucky with items. Super Circuit has a much better 1 player experience than 64 and that’s due to the computer players. It’s just that Super Circuit has far better tracks and 64 doesn’t have any standouts.įinally, the single player experience. Of course each game has their good and bad tracks, 64 has Kalimari Desert, Koopa Troopa Beach, Frappe Snowland, Royal Raceway and Banshee Boardwalk and Super Circuit has Snow Land, Broken Pier and Peach Circuit. With tracks like Sunset Wilds, Sky Garden, Bowers Castle 3, Ribbon Road and Cheese Land it’s hard not to laugh when 64 has tracks like Sherbet Land, Wario Stadium, Choco Mountain, Moo Moo Farm and the worst version of Rainbow Road. While both track selections are pretty weak Super Circuit has much more better and more memorable tracks. Next up is the real meat to any Mario Kart, the track selection. My point is, Super Circuit does a much better job representing the world of Mario with its colorfulness, whereas 64 fails in that aspect. When you compare the two games side by side Super Circuits graphics look much more charming and are more easy on the eyes compared to 64’s blockiness and weird colors.
Now yes, N64 graphics don’t look that great now compared to when they first came out, but my point still stands. Personally I think 64 is the second worst entry in the Mario Kart series with Super Circuit above it (only counting main line games because Tour is definitely the worst). Lots of people have said that Super Circuit is the worst or second worst Mario Kart game, however I strongly disagree. Before you nostalgia blinded babies downvote me, at least listen to me first.
